Smooth, Reliable Building Connectivity

Capitol Communications has a riser management division that manages, secures, and maintains a commercial building’s vertical telecommunications infrastructure, including riser cabling, conduits, pathways, and telecom closets. Their role is to keep the building’s voice/data infrastructure organized, compliant, and reliable for all tenants.

They help prevent unorganized “spaghetti cabling,” reduce service outages, control riser closet access, and make sure all carrier and tenant cabling is properly documented and installed.

Capitol Communications will perform:

Audit & Documentation

Review existing riser closets, identify abandoned cabling, document active circuits, and maintain accurate records of building infrastructure.

Security & Access Control

Secure telecom/riser closets and manage access to prevent unauthorized cabling, unsafe installations, or damage to active circuits.

Installation & Maintenance

Install and maintain backbone cabling, including fiber and copper, and support new tenant service installations throughout the building.

Ongoing Support

Provide maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency response to help keep tenant telecom services operational.

Capitol Communications specializes in coordinating with multiple ISP providers to properly plan and position their equipment and fiber distribution infrastructure within a building.

Our team works proactively to identify optimal locations for carrier equipment, fiber distribution panels, and pathways early in the project—helping avoid access issues in fully occupied buildings. By planning these placements ahead of installation, we minimize disruption to tenants, eliminate rework, and ensure efficient, code-compliant deployments for all service providers.

This approach allows us to streamline future installations, maintain organized infrastructure, and support long-term scalability for the building’s telecom system.
